Coolant System Repair

We are highly experienced in coolant system repair and will inspect, diagnose, and repair your vehicle’s coolant system.

What is a coolant system?

Your coolant system is what keeps your engine operating at the proper temperature. Without your coolant system, your engine would overheat and fail with often high repair costs. When your engine is running, it produces a lot of heat. Coolant, which is a mix of water and antifreeze, is used to cool it down. When your engine is running, liquid coolant is sent through passages in the engine block and heads to pick up heat from the engine. The heated fluid then heads to the radiator through a rubber hose. Once it reaches your radiator, the hot liquid coolant is then passed through metal fins that conducts heat away from the liquid and into the air. Once the coolant has been cooled to the right temperature, it is then filtered back into rotation.

Do I need to replace my coolant?

From time to time, yes you do. In regards to this, it’s first important to note that different vehicles require different coolant in order to protect against corrosion. This is why you need fresh coolant because due to time and usage, the anti-corrosion additives in your vehicle’s coolant will deplete and can start eating away at your coolant unit. This can cause obvious issues and is 1 reason why some people need coolant system repair.

What are the parts to my coolant system?

There are 4 parts to your vehicle’s coolant system and unfortunately, all of these parts eventually do wear out and need replacement. There is the Radiator, Water Pumps, Hoses, and the Thermostat. Of course, there is also the liquid coolant itself. Each part must be working properly to ensure your vehicle’s coolant system is doing its job. If your coolant system isn’t doing it’s job or something breaks, you could be in for a sad day because engine damage from overheating can be very expensive to fix. Proper preventative maintenance is key to keeping your coolant system working well.
